Project-YN is a sponsor operated and self-funded art project aimed towards uniting, connecting and publishing Animations, Comics and Games influenced artists; locally and internationally. Having a hybrid nature of being both an art group itself and a community based project, Project-YN frequents in art scene attendances and magazine/artbook/print publishing for such occasions.

The Origin of the Name
The acronym YN derives from “YamiNabe / 闇鍋” which means means Dark-POT.

What is YamiNabe?
YamiNabe is a Hot Pot filled with random ingredients. It is a Japanese urban tradition of having each participant bring an unknown ingredient and placing it into a hot pot while the lights are off. Each participant will then scoop out an ingredient. The Rule is you cannot change what you scooped from the pot, and you HAVE to eat it. The ingredients?

Absolutely RANDOM.

The name was chosen due to the variation of art styles presented by each artist;
like the ingredients in a dark pot – randomly mixed together.
